Artist's Description

What a beautiful place to sit down and rest your weary bones after spending a morning wandering around the Japanese garden in Portland, Oregon. Its mid October and the colors are at their peak brilliance. The garden is incredibly neat and manicured, making a nice respite from my chaotic property.

About Jean Noren

Jean Noren

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
