Ammonite Agate Fossil Canvas Print

This is a small Ammonite - agatized,from the mid jurassic, early cretaceous period. That makes it 150 to 130 million years old. Its from Madagascar, which is a place I would really like to see, but this specimen actually came to me by way of a curio store.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible.
