Description

I thought the purplish blue background against the green wing color made this butterfly seem a bit otherworldly. The background color actually comes from the shade and the shadows of leaves inside a butterfly tent. The tent was put up at the zoo during the summer and populated with a number of colorful tropical butterflies. You could walk through and experience a sauna while photographing or just admiring these aptly named flying flowers.
