Artist's Description
A hawksbill turtle glides right up to me during a dive from Turneffe Flats resort in Belize. Turtles are occasionally seen during dives. The tend to go right up to divers to check them out but as soon as you notice or try to photograph them they are off like a rocket. This one was hightailing it away from the photographers in the background and was likely surprised to see me right in front of him.
About Jean Noren
My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible. Enjoy the photos.
